This role is a direct report to Senior Manager-Finance, Flow & Process Technologies (Energy) India with intensive communication with GE Energy India FP&A Leader and operational/ financial leadership. The FP&A Analyst demonstrates accountability for deliverables of functional and business objectives. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy. The FP&A Analyst supports the FP&A leader as well as the CFO in all aspects of forecasting, planning and analytics within the region. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Financial leadership for monthly/quarterly close and reporting, coordination of regional reporting, and timely preparation of management reports
- Participate actively in business planning process. SII, op plan & GPB. These are tremendous opportunity to learn the entire business both operationally as well as financially
- Lead analysis on working capital and cash flow forecasting
- FP&A support on Systems initiatives
- FP&A support for acquisition/disposition
- Interact with the Energy team and India P&L team on a proactive basis to provide insight and decision making support
- Provide support for ongoing growth opportunities with data and analytics
- Provide competitive benchmarking to support the business plans
- Drive and support Operations teams to deliver financial commitments
- Provide analysis into project profitability, ascertain and price for risk, structure contracts for maximum cash flows
- Improve finance processes (working capital improvement, reporting processes, transaction processing routines, and internal controls), as well as self auditing of results
- Support leadership in preparation of executive presentations (Growth Playbook, Session II, Operating Plan, Quarterly financial updates)
- Serve as a business partner to the operating team(s) to drive business initiatives, growth, and profitability
- Work effectively with business leaders to effectively analyze and report the financial impact of key business initiatives on the business
- Drive financial modeling improvements in the planning and forecasting models to enhance process efficiency, support new initiatives and to accurately capture the changing economics or structure of the business. Qualifications/Requirements • Chartered Accountant, MBA or equivalent
- 4+ years work experience in finance/accounting in large company or Multi National Companies
- Experience in FP&A with modeling and forecasting
- Proven team leadership and interpersonal abilities
- Good PC skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)
- Sharp, high energy, results-driven, solution-oriented, focused and motivated, with solid decision-making capability
- Excellent analytical skills
- Quick learner
- Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to listen, understand and influence
- Effective and decisive under pressure
- Possesses the confidence and presence to interact at senior management levels
- Comfortable with fast-paced, results-oriented environment
- Demonstrated ability to influence others, both directly and indirectly, and to operate effectively in a matrixed environment
- Good understanding of US GAAP and Indian GAAP
- Clear thinking / problem solving: successfully led cross-functional projects/process improvement within operations/finance function involving process improvement - able to grasp new ideas quickly
- Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills Desired Characteristics • Corporate Audit Staff or FMP grad. preferred but not required
- Six Sigma trained/ Black Belt a plus
- Motivated self-starter with demonstrated leadership qualities
